Petting Farm
The Kinderboerderij Westerpark children’s farm is situated in the western section of the Wester Park, set off to one side of the cycle and footpath. Kinderboerderij Westerpark is there so children can grow accustomed to having animals around them and learn to get along with them. There are ponies, a cow, pig, sheep, goats, rabbits, pigs, hamsters and rats.

Petting Farm Westerpark has a variety of special breeds, including a rare red and white-belted Lakenvelder cow, two Shetland ponies (mother and son) and the giant Yorkshire pig Motti. On the playing field you will find nubian goats (with long floppy ears) and delightful dwarf goats. There are fine breeds of chicken, too, including North Holland Blues, Barnevelders, Rhode Island Reds and Brahmas.
Petting Farm Westerpark has a cosy little kitchen where you can get a glass of juice or a cup of coffee. There are activities the whole year round, such as the Easter party, the sheep shearing party, National Children’s Farm Day, Animal Day, the Sinterklaas party and a live nativity scene.
