26 March 2012

Following PITCH festival’s highly syccessful sold out first edition in 2011, the second edition will this year again be held at the Westergasfabriek, on Fridat 6 and Saturday 7 July. PITCH festival is for lovers of adverturous electronic music- much of it live. The festival has expanded this year to take in an extra indoor venue and a new tent of the main field.

PITCH is an adventurous and intimate festival with a focus on live electronic music. So it’s not just DJs onstage because there will be many bands playing instruments live. It’s an approach that has already given PITCH a distinctive plance on the Dutch electronic dance festival scene. The music ranges from dub step, house and deep house to UK funk, jazz, electronica and more. Last yearm the venues were the Gashouder, the WesterUnie, the Transformatorhuis and WestergasTerras including the square in front of it; this year we’re adding MC Theatre to the list of venues. And Bacardi will be hosting a new tent to celebrate the company’s 150th anniversary.

This year’s festival will be on a Fridat and Saturday. The site will open at 15.00 on Friday 6 July and close the following morning at 05.00. PITCH will then continue the following day, Saturday 7 July, from 15.00 to 05.00, when the festival will close. Festival passes and day passes are available.

PITCH festival acts

The first acts booked for PITCH festival have been announced. There’s already a strong line-up of confirmed headliners including The Weeknd (first appearance in the Netherlands), Die Antwoord, SBTRKT and Gui Boratto. At PITCH you can also expect to see less well-known acts with new and refreshing sounds, like Azari & III, Gold Panda, Jessie Ware, Elektro Guzzi and Rocketnumbernine. The Gaslamp Killer was a big audience favourite at last year’s PITCH – after his own show he joined several other acts onstage. That’s why we’ve invited back this incredible producer from Los Angeles to play this year’s PITCH – he’ll be performing on both days.
