Bar Kantoor is the restaurant of Conscious Hotel Westerpark. Neighbors, guests of the hotel, visitors of an event or people hanging in the park, Bar Kantoor is for everyone.
The restaurant is situated in the former offices of the Wester Gasfactory. This explains the name Bar Kantoor (kantoor is office in dutch) and can be seen in the interior. The all-day restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner: easy, high-quality dishes. Al dishes are prepared with local, organic and sustainable products. The menu caters to everyone, from croissants to eggs benedict, from club sandwich to pickled red cabbage with scallops and from sirloin steak to celeriac lasagne. In addition to regular drinks, beers and wines, the bar also serves kombucha and signature cocktails.
Fun fact: every dish that is served in Bar Kantoor contains a fermented product! Fermentation is a sustainable method that ensures that the chef can preserve seasonal products for a long time in order to enjoy it throughout the year. In addition, everything that is served is 100% organic, even the delicious cocktails.
In Bar Kantoor you can also find an Aquaponics: this is an old technique and a sustainable way to grow herbs and have fish. The manure from the fish is nutrients for the plants. The restaurant has a private dining (The Library), a bar made from old desk drawers and other recycled office furniture. On sunny days you can enjoy the weather on the large sunny terrace in front of the hotel.
